BELGRADE – Serbian PM Ana Brnabić and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker discussed in Belgrade on Tuesday the EC’s enlargement strategy and Serbia’s future activities on the EU path.

Brnabić noted the adoption of the strategy was an encouraging message to the entire Western Balkan region.

European Integration Minister Jadranka Joksimović, who also attended the meeting, thanked Juncker for a new rhetoric and the impetus given to the enlargement policy, as well as for recognising Serbia as the most serious EU membership candidate.

It is significant to continue to solve open bilateral issues through dialogue with neighbours, not because it is a condition for EU accession, but because it is of great significance to the citizens of Serbia and the region, Juncker reiterated.

He also welcomed the resumption of the Belgrade-Pristina technical dialogue.
