PODGORICA – Dismissal of the Director of the Television of Montenegro, Vladan Mićunović, is against the freedom of expression and media, which are the fundamental values of the EU. Spokesperson of the European Commission, Maja Kocijančič, said that in the last couple of months she noticed that the political involvement into the Council of Radio and Television of Montenegro is a question of great concern.

“Decisions like this one are against freedom of expression and media, key elements of the EU accession and important measure which has to be met in accordance with the chapter 23”, said Kocijančič. She added that it is unacceptable that the grant of the EU, which utterly supports the professionalism of RTCG, was abused in this context.
