BRUSSELS – Commissioner-designate for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi stated today that he will work with the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell to bring the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue to a successful conclusion in 2020. Várhelyi went through hearing in front of the European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee, during which he repeatedly had to defend his independence from the Government of Viktor Orbán. He said that his goals are the beginning of accession talks with North Macedonia and Albania, visa liberalisation for Kosovo and conclusion of Serbia’s accession process by the end of his mandate.
