Xhaferi and Janeva meet with US Congress delegation

meta_maliSKOPJE – A delegation of representatives from the United States Congress visited Macedonia Thursday, and met with the newly elected Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi and Special Public Prosecutor, Katica Janeva, stated the US Embassy in Macedonia, Meta reports.

“The bi-partisan delegation, led by Representative Bob Goodlatte, chairman of the Judiciary Committee, met with Speaker of Parliament Talat Xhaferi, members of Parliament, and Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva. In addition, the delegation met Minister of Defense Zoran Jolevski and Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Poposki, and reviewed U.S. funded equipment with the Military Police Battalion at the Ilinden Barracks”, said the statement from the US Embassy.

During their meetings, the delegation discussed “strengthening the rule of law in Macedonia, military cooperation, and the government formation process.”

Otherwise, the delegation of representatives from the United States Congress visited Macedonia as part of a regional visit to discuss various issues, including the democratic political climate and economic growth in the Balkans.
