BELGRADE – PM-designate Ana Brnabić has said the next Serbian government would maintain absolute continuity with the previous one and that her goal would be to make all achievements sustainable, Tanjug reports.

In late Sunday’s appearance on a TV Pink talk show, Brnabić said she had fully dedicated herself to writing her programme.

“There is not much philosophy about the focus of the future government. I was a member of PM Aleksandar Vučić’s government, on his invitation, because I believed it was a reform government, and I was not wrong,” Brnabić noted.

He said her personal priority would be higher GDP growth, a successful conclusion of the seventh International Monetary Fund review and the entire arrangement, and further improvement of Serbia’s position on the Doing Business list.

The goal is for growth to move towards 3.5 pct, and then also 5 pct.

The foreign policy of the next Serbian government will also be one of continuity, which implies approximation to the EU, good relations with Russia, UAE and China, and maintaining Serbia’s territorial integrity, she said.

Always and above all, the government will be protecting the interests of the Republic of Serbia and, at this time, Serbia’s interest is the EU, Brnabić said.

The new government will also continue to maintain good relations with Russia, the UAE and China, Brnabić said.

“China put us at the centre of a global project the whole world is interested in. On inauguration day I spoke with five investors from China that said Serbia was significant for this project,” she said.

Speaking about Kosovo, she said Serbia would not change its constitution.
