PODGORICA – Speaking about regional relations during Prime Minister’s Hour in Parliament, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić announced that a new era has arrived in relations between Montenegro and Serbia, RTCG reported.

“We have been ready for top-level cooperation with Serbia since the start of our mandate, though the opportunity was not there. We welcome statements from election winners indicating a turning point. With great pleasure, we will work to build the climate these two peoples deserve”, he noted.

Spajić stressed that Montenegro, as the smallest Balkan nation, holds a special duty to foster good neighborliness.

“Our country lacks a dominant identity group, perhaps uniquely in Europe, and has long been a divided society. Gone are the days when a census was a life-or-death dilemma or a simple statistical question. Today, Montenegro is a civic state where everyone can freely express their views”, he remarked.
