Roundtable on Serbia's path towards the EU Membership

BRUSSELS, 25.6.2015. – Emilian Pavel, MEP and President of the “Friends of Serbia” Informal Group, and His Excellency, Dusko Lopandic, Ambassador, Head of the Mission of the Republic of Serbia to the EU, are organizing the roundtable discussion Serbia on the path towards the EU Membership on 30 June 2015 in the European Parliament in Brussels.

During the roundtable event, Members of the European Parliament, representatives of the Serbian Parliament and other Serbian institutions, we will exchange views on the progress that Serbia has undergone, the EU enlargement process and the regional cooperation issues. We will also discuss about the opening of the first chapters in the accession negotiations, as well as analyse the required next steps and sustained efforts towards becoming the 29th EU Member State.

This event will also mark the official launch of “Friends of Serbia”, an informal group that includes MEPs across various political groups, aimed at establishing friendly relations with Serbia and its representatives, and at supporting Serbian democratic development, political dialogue, economic, cultural and above all, social relations.

The roundtable discussions will be followed by a photo exhibition of Serbian artist Dragoljub Zamurovic, who has prepared a set of enchanting photos depicting Serbia’s natural beauty (“Colours of Serbia”). The exhibition will start at 14h15, followed by Serbian wine tasting, in the exhibition space of A1G balcony.
