BELGRADE – The opening of the first chapters in the EU accession talks will be a deserved moment for celebration for Serbia, with economic recovery and rule of law as the focus in the future, EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn said ahead of his visit to Belgrade on Thursday.
The upcoming intergovernmental conference and the opening of the first chapters in the accession talks will be a deserved moment for celebration for Serbia – our focus will shift resolutely to support on economic recovery and rule-of-law issues to ensure the opening of new chapters next year, Hahn said.
Our common strategic goal is to bring the benefits of EU accession to all Serbian citizens, Hahn said.
