Thaçi: Border demarcation with Montenegro holds back visa liberalisation

Hashim Thaçi

ata_maliTIRANA – Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi declared on Tuesday that in the last two weeks he had meetings with President Juncker, President Tusk, President Tajani, High Representative Mogherini, Commissioners Hahn and Avramopoulos with each of them confirming that ratification of agreement on border demarcation with Montenegro is holding back the final decision on visa liberalization for Kosovo citizens, Albanian news agency ATA reports.

A number of independent commissions, either Kosovo and international ones, have made it clear that boundary demarcation with Montenegro is fair and not a single meter of Kosovo territory will be touched due to ratification of this agreement“, said Thaçi.

He added that consequently, he regrets that Kosovo political spectrum is not rallying behind the causes in the interest of Kosovo citizens.

I invite entire political spectrum to stand up for the European future of Kosovo regardless of political or ethnic belongingness“, Thaçi concluded.
