Bushati meets Mogherini

ata_maliTIRANA – Albanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati met with the European Union’s foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini, who visited Tirana on Friday, Albanian news agency ATA reports.

Bushati and Mogherini discussed Albania’s progress on its path towards EU membership and the most recent political developments in the country.

Foreign Minister briefed the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy on Albania’s progress in pushing forwards its EU reforms agenda and the government’s commitment to finalize the crucial judicial reform as the key priority for Albania on its path towards integration into the EU.

Bushati and Mogherini also discussed the latest situation in the region, ways to deepen cooperation between the EU and the Western Balkans, importance of the region’s democratic stability and European perspective, with Albania and Albanians having to play a significant role in this respect. Foreign Minister affirmed Albania’s strong commitment to contribute towards a region fully integrated into the Euro-Atlantic structures.
