Kotzias to Dimitrov: Greece will not allow entry into NATO under the provisional name

Nikos Kotzias
meta_maliATHENS – Greece supports the territorial integrity of its northern neighbour, said Greek Foreign Minister, Nikos Kotzias at a joint press conference with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia, Nikola Dimitrov.
He ruled out the possibility that Greece will allow Macedonia to join the EU and NATO under the provisional reference.
“Now Macedonia wants to be a member of several international organizations. We will support this provided the issue with name is solved”, Kotzias said, adding that a new agreement is needed through the UN on a new name, which will then be presented to the European Union.
Macedonian Foreign Minister Dimitrov said he that he had an open and friendly meeting with Kotzias. He, speaking of relations between the two countries regarding the first official visit, said that it is not often “after the first meeting to start dancing,” but said he would continue to work to facilitate and improve relations between the two countries.
