Western Balkans Six Summit in Trieste ends

TRIESTE – The 4th Western Balkans Summit in Trieste, held as part of the Berlin Process, concluded late Wednesday with the signing of the Transport Community Treaty.

The main message of the summit was strengthening of regional cooperation and connectivity in the Western Balkans as the key element of accelerating the region’s European integration processes and strengthening of economic cooperation, in particular in the SME, IT and research sectors.

At meetings with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, EU Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn, World Bank and European Investment Bank officials and Macedonian and Slovenian PMs Zoran Zaev and Miro Cerar, as well as during a meeting of all leaders, Serbian PM Ana Brnabić said Serbia had done much over the past few years to create a favourable investment climate by strengthening its economic and political stability.
