EC positively assesses Albania’s commitment to reform agenda

TIRANA – Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati met on Monday in Brussels with first Vice-President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans and Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Dimitris Avramopoulos.

FM Bushati made a detailed analysis of the reforms that the government of Albania has undertaken for meeting the five key priorities necessary for Albania’s EU accession and welcomed the European Commission’s support to the European agenda of Albania.

He emphasized that while assessing the progress made, the government of Albania expects that 2018 will be a decisive year for Albania’s European journey. And in this context, the opening of the Albania-EU membership negotiations will reaffirm Albania’s strong commitment to the country’s transformation and modernization.

During the two meetings, the representatives of the European Commission highlighted Albania’s constant devotion to the agenda of reforms.
