DAVOS – European Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn has stated he had had good meetings with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi in Davos, noting that dialogue was key for normalisation of Belgrade-Pristina relations.

Hahn posted on Twitter that he had had a very good meeting with Vučić and that 2018 “can be the year of the Western Balkans if all leaders keep pushing reforms and reconciliation,” including resolving bilateral problems.

In a separate posting, he also wrote he had a “good meeting” with Thaçi.

The EU has “self-interest” to bring the entire Western Balkan region forward, he wrote, noting that “stronger efforts of all countries” were needed in return, and that dialogue was key for progress of the Serbian government and Kosovo.
