BELGRADE – Germany, like the EU, wants a solution to be found for Belgrade-Pristina relations, German Vice Chancellor and FM Sigmar Gabriel said in Belgrade on Wednesday.

Of course, Germany is interested in a solution being found and the situation being eased, Gabriel said when asked by reporters what demand Serbia could expect from Germany’s new government in terms of normalisation of Belgrade’s ties with Pristina.

At a joint press conference with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, Gabriel said that finding a solution was not only significant for the EU but, most of all, for the citizens of Serbia and Kosovo.

We all agree there can be no permanent conflict because that is not in the interest of the citizens, he noted.
