TIRANA – Germany will provide full support for the European integration of Albania and Macedonia, German Federal Foreign Office’s Minister of State for European Affairs, Michael Roth stated during an interview for DW.
“The main purpose of my visit to Macedonia and Albania is to express the strong support of the German government. We support the positive developments in both countries,” Roth said.
Regarding the Western Balkans Summit in Sofia next week, Roth stated that Germany will confirm the EU’s enlargement perspective for all Western Balkans.
“There are two main challenges for both countries to achieve the EU support. Firstly, they should increase efforts to strengthen the rule of law and fight corruption and secondly, stabilize the welfare and employment system and providing a positive perspective for the younger generation,” he added.
