BRUSSELS – “Today we celebrate 15 years of EU Enlargement, an ambitious project based on joint efforts and a common vision: to reunite the European continent and to safeguard peace, prosperity and security for all EU citizens”, wrote EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn on his Twitter. In light of that, he pointed out that now is the time to look forward and to finalise the historic project of European unification by integrating the Western Balkans. “I am sure that – with joint efforts – it will be a success story, too, for both sides! EU and Western Balkans: stronger together!”, he added.
