Peter Stano and Ana Pisonero new EU Spokespersons covering Western Balkans

BRUSSELS – Former Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia Peter Stano will be the new Spokesperson of High Representative Josep Borrell, dealing with the issues such as Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, while Ana Pisonero will be the new Spokesperson for Neighbourhood and Enlargement.

This was confirmed for the European Western Balkans from the European Commission.

Peter Stano also worked as Spokesperson in the Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy portfolio, which was then led by the former Czech EU Commissioner Štefan Füle. He worked for Slovak public media, in the British BBC World Service and German Deutsche Welle.

Pisaro previously worked as a journalist at the Europa Press. She will work as a Spokesperson for Neighbourhood and Enlargement under new Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi.

Former Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Maja Kocijančič, one of the most visible EU officials in the Western Balkans took office as the Member of Cabinet & Communication Advisor to Olivér Várhelyi. She is replacing Annemarie Huber on this position.
