BELGRADE – EU High Representative Federica Mogherini, together with Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn and Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmström, has written to Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj to propose various solutions to Pristina’s complaints over the functioning of CEFTA, N1 reproted.
Kosovo is also urged to revoke tariffs imposed on goods from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, European Commission Spokesperson Maja Kocijačič confirmed.
One of the solutions would be changing the name of the signing party from UNMIK to Kosovo.
However, N1 writes that Haradinaj’s Advisor Avni Arifi has already confirmed the proposals will not be accepted. Prime Minister is expected to send the answer today. “Every poition of Kosovo’s government is known to the people”, said Arifi.
Haradinaj will nonetheless meet with Mogherini during today’s Third EU-Kosovo Stabilisation and Association Council.
Concerning the relations under the Stabilisation and Association process, the participants will discuss in particular the political criteria, the economic criteria, financial cooperation and the implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, as well as recent developments in the Western Balkans, the announcement reads.
