Agreement on donation for housing signed

TANJUG_maliBELGRADE – Jadranka Joksimovic, Serbia’s minister responsible for EU integration and national IPA coordinator, and representatives of the Council of Europe Development Bank signed an agreement on donation for the fifth sub-project of the Regional Housing Program which will provide permanent accommodation for refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs).

The funds, which mostly come from the EU, will secure housing for another 1,712 families of refugees and IDPs in Belgrade and a large number of municipalities across Serbia.

The funds totaling around EUR 46.8 million, EUR 36.4 million of which come from donors and EUR 10.4 million from national co-financing, will help build 1,262 apartments, provide construction materials packages for 250 houses, and purchase 200 rural households.

Donation contracts are signed based on the Framework Agreement, concluded on October 25, 2013, between Serbia and the Council of Europe Development Bank, notes the release.
