SKOPJE – The meeting between the leader of VMRO-DPMNE, Nikola Gruevski and European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, lasted three hours, according to party statements. Gruevski and his associates “directly, clearly and precisely” presented their positions on the current political situation, but, also “all causes, triggers and sources of the crisis in Macedonia,” Meta reports.
“VMRO-DPMNE talked openly about the direct interference from external factors in creating the crisis, the unacceptable role and interference of several ambassadors in the process of forming a government, the role of the SPO as a political office for SDSM and other outside centres, pressure, silence and threats against politicians, journalists and the media, political fraud by presenting the Tirana platform as a precondition for forming a government”, reads the statement by VMRO-DPMNE regarding the meeting.
VMRO-DPMNE emphasized that the majority of the Macedonian people can not be left in the opposition, and without the right to participate in governance and decision making about the future of their own country. What is happening here is “political rape” of the state and the will of the people.
The party pointed out that the responsibility for further developments of the situation will be everyone’s to bear, political figures, including representatives of the international community.
