TIRANA – The opposition coalition, through a letter signed today by the chairperson of its Parliamentary group Edi Paloka, draws the attention of the Central Election Commission (CEC) to the fact that the deadlines envisaged in articles 64 and 65 of the Electoral Code on registration of political parties and electoral coalitions are preclusive deadlines and cannot be extended, is written a press release of the Democratic Party, ATA reports.

Likewise, the press release writes that, “The Socialist Party and the Socialist Movement for Integration have requested CEC to extend the deadline for registration of the electoral coalitions. In the letter of the opposition coalition addressed to CEC today afternoon is written that CEC stance to this request, or any decision-making on this request, would make it come out as a deeply political institution that serves as an electoral cat’s paw to the governance caste”.
