Palmer visits Kosovo, meets with Thaçi and party representatives

PRISTINA – United States Special Representative for the Western Balkans Matthew Palmer has visited Kosovo today, discussing the recently held election, rule of law and the renewal of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue with numerous political actors, KoSSev reports.

Ushering the path towards peace with a comprehensive agreement with Serbia was one of the topics of discussion this US official had with the President of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi.

Thaçi added that Kosovo “remains committed to continuing the implementation of the law and order reforms”, strengthening the Euro-Atlantic future and democratic reforms, KoSSev reports.

President of Kosovo also familiarised Palmer with the latest developments in the country, and the need to establish new Kosovo institutions as soon as possible, official announcement reads.

US Ambassador in Kosovo Philip Kosnett tweeted that he met with the Special Representative of United States Secretary of State.

According to Kosnett, he and Palmer talked about the establishment of a better and more successful future of Kosovo.

Palmer also met with leaders of the LDK and PDK parties, as well as Srpska lista, KoSSev reports. Previously, US Special Representative visited Skopje.
