BELGRADE – Serbia is ready to open negotiating Chapter 24, relating to justice, freedom and security, according to the participants of Friday’s working meeting which marked the completion of preparations for opening that chapter.
In a report measuring Serbia’s progress in meeting the benchmarks for opening Chapter 24, which has been sent to the EU member-states, the European Commission assessed the Action Plan for the chapter as very positive, chief of Serbia’s EU accession negotiations team Tanja Miscevic said.
EU member-states will discuss the adoption of the Action Plan based on that assessment and then ask Serbia to offer its negotiating position, Miscevic said during a meeting with representatives of 14 civil societies in Serbia in Belgrade today.
