SARAJEVO – Yesterday, the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) decided to give us their signatures to get the mandate to form a government, which will be formed in the first half of March, said the leader of SDSM, Zoran Zaev, during his visit to Sarajevo, at a joint press conference with the leader of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, “Meta” news agency reported.
“I know that the DUI leadership last night reached the decision to give us their signatures because as the second ranked party, we were conditioned by President Gjorge Ivanov to provide signatures to receive the mandate. Now we have secured the signatures to receive the mandate. I believe that a small part of the negotiations remain on forming a government because the most important issues, which will be part of the future government program, such as the platform of the Albanian political parties, and the Law on the use of languages, have managed to align. These were the substantial differences. What remains now, is to sit down with leaders of the other parties and to arrange the departments, the personnel in certain areas of government and I believe that in 10-15 days, Macedonia will have a new government led by SDSM”, “Meta” quoted Zaev.
Zaev added that the early parliamentary elections in Macedonia were the result of the persistent struggle of the opposition in providing conditions for regular, fair and democratic elections, which he said had not been totally fair and democratic, however, there were no forgeries.
According to Zaev, SDSM as a party supports citizens from all ethnic groups and stressed that he believes that multiculturalism will help the development of countries, and not weakness and obstacles.
