Osmani: Juncker’s visit as encouragement

SKOPJE – The Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs, Bujar Osmani, informed that the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Junker will be visiting Macedonia on the 25th of February. Macedonia will be the first country that Junker will visit as part his tour through the countries of Western Balkans in order to present the EU’s Strategy for the region.

“This is an important moment for the presentation of the strategy, but also it will serve as an encouragement for the governments to double their efforts for achieving the new targets,” said Osmani.

According to him, the Strategy is meeting all of Macedonia’s expectations because it valorizes the successes of the country regarding its reforms.

He stressed that the Report of the European Commission about the country’s advancement will be announced on the 17th of April and he expects a recommendation for starting the negotiations.
