BELGRADE – Serbia is ready to open new chapters in its EU accession talks, Serbian European Integration Minister Jadranka Joksimović said on Monday, adding that she expected at least three chapters to be opened by the end of June.

“We are ready for an entire set of new chapters – five chapters: Chapter 33 on budgetary and financial standards, Chapter 17 on the economic and monetary policy, Chapter 18 on statistics, Chapter 9 on financial services and Chapter 13 on fisheries,” she told Happy TV.

“We are also preparing some new negotiating positions. I do not believe we will open all five by the end of June but I think that, considering the European Commission’s report on the progress we have made, there will certainly be more than two. I expect at least three chapters to be opened,” she said.
