Zaev and Rama expect EU to open accession negotiations for North Macedonia and Albania in June

TIRANA – Prime Minister of Republic of North Macedonia met with prime minister of Albania today in Tirana.

They believe European union will open accession negotiations for membership of these two countries. Zaev said EU will bring positive decision towards the opening of EU accession negotiations. As he pointed oout by that these countries will achieve their strategic goals.

EU officials concluded last year in June that they will decide on opening accession negotiations wit Albania and North Macedonia on the Summit this yeas which will take part in June. The decision will be derminated by the reform process in these countries.

According to both prime ministers, their cabinets filled out all asked requests including the reformes in the public administration sector and judiciary.

A1on.mk reports that Albanian prime minister Edi Rama advocated the implementation of Shengen model not only with Kosovo but also with North Macedonia and other countries across Western Balkans.

“Sooner or later citizens will cross Albania and North Macedonia’s borders without any barriers”, Rama emphasized.
