Moore: Balkans should not think in terms of West and East

SARAJEVO – Head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) Jonathan Moore has said in an interview with Tanjug that the Balkans is now a region of cooperation and strong international ties which, despite a difficult past, has much potential and should not think in terms of ‘ the West’ and ‘the East’.“Serbia is pursuing its integration into the EU and has received positive responses, having accomplished a great deal through the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue,” said Moore.

Asked if the West have an interest in relying on some states in the region more than on others, and assisting them more, Moore said the Balkans should not be thinking about ‘the West’ or ‘the East’ as all countries in the region had important roles to play, and for the sake of stability and prosperity, should work together as closely as possible.
