Ruiz – Calavera meets members of vetting committees

TIRANA – Director of International Monitoring Operation (IMO) Genoveva Ruiz Calavera held a meeting with members of vetting committees.

She expressed confidence that the work of vetting committees will bring in positive changes.

Also, today Calavera visited the new premises of vetting institutions in Tirana.

Few days ago, the US ambassador Donald Lu announced the beginning of vetting in a few days.

On June 17, Parliament of Albania approved with 100 votes pro and two against the list of 27 members who will serve on the vetting committees.

Under the supervision of International Monitoring Operation, the three vetting institutions will screen the justice officials on their wealth, moral integrity and independence from organized crime, corruption and political officials as well as on professional competence.
