TIRANA/SKOPJE – Albania and Republic of North Macedonia are to join forces and strengthen coordination between institutions in the area of establishing negotiating structures aimed at receiving the green light to start EU accession negotiations in June, said Deputy PM for European Affairs of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani and Gent Cakaj, Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania at the 27 February meeting in Skopje. Both countries have already been recommended to open their respective negotiations by the European Commission, while the June 2018 European Council meeting decided to postpone the decision for a year.
