ata_maliTIRANA – “It’s high time for the truth to be revealed and we want to see who is for and who is against reform in the judiciary”, said MEP Knut Fleckenstein at a press conference at the headquarters of the European Delegation in Tirana, after meeting Monday with senior political officials, including Prime Minister Edi Rama, Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta and the leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, in efforts to reach a compromise on the judicial reform.

The MEP said that the draft that is on the table, and which in Thursday’s session will be submitted to vote, is recognized by the European Union and the United States, which expect Parliament to vote for.

In his statement, the European official also expressed support for the Speaker Meta’s effort to dialogue.

“We fully and completely support Parliament Speaker in his efforts to find a solution thanks to proposals put forth, on the basis of Nuland hybrid proposal,” Fleckenstein said.
