Montenegro becomes 29th NATO member

WASHINGTON – Montenegrin Prime Minister Duško Marković traveled to Washington Sunday, where Montenegro will deposit the NATO accession document with the United States Monday, thus the country will formally become a member of the North Atlantic Alliance, Government of Montenegro stated.
The ceremony, which will be held at the State Department starting at 12:00 EST (18:00 CET), will be attended, among other officials, by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

The Prime Minister of Montenegro and NATO Secretary General will address the public on this occasion.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Srđan Darmanović will deposit the document – instrument of accession – on behalf of Montenegro.

Prime Minister Marković will meet with US Vice President Mike Pence during his stay in Washington.
