PRISTINA – Kosovo’s armed forces will be formed in a procedure coordinated with NATO and other relevant international factors, says Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi.

The process is unstoppable, it is a part of our daily agendas and no one will be able or allowed to veto it, Thaçi told Tanjug in an interview.

The process should not be viewed with prejudice – the armed forces will be established according to NATO standards, they will be multiethnic and pursue the goal of Euro-Atlantic integration, Thaçi noted.

“Establishment of armed forces is our constitutional and legal right, and members of the Serb community will make up over 10 percent of the forces,” Thaçi said.

The formation of the armed forces is not aimed against the Serb community, he added.
