BRUSSELS – EU foreign policy and security chief Federica Mogherini said ahead of a Brussels summit of EU leaders on Thursday they would begin discussions on the Western Balkans and get back to the topic at a June summit.
“I believe we will also have a good beginning of a discussion on the Western Balkans. We will come back to that in June, with very positive developments and news, so I think we can register a trend there that we will then continue working upon in the European Council in June to reaffirm the clear European perspective for the entire region,” she told reporters.
“As you know, we have been working a lot on this with different formations of the Council, with the (European) Commission, with all our partners in the region,” Mogherini said.
