BELGRADE – Hungarian and Croatian Prime Ministers Péter Magyar and Andrej Plenković separately announced that they had spoken by phone with the leaders of the Student List to congratulate them on winning the elections.
“I have just spoken by phone with the leaders of the Students’ List, who won
The elections in Serbia, to congratulate them on their victory. I assured them of Hungary’s support. I was delighted to hear how much strength our victory in April had given them during this difficult struggle”, wrote Magyar in an X post.
He added that “surely I wasn’t the only one feeling nostalgic when I saw those pictures coming out of Serbia last night?”
“It’s symbolic that the “Budapest Express” reached Belgrade in politics before it did on the tracks”, Hungarian Prime Minister remarked.
Andrej Plenković stated that in his conversation with Ilija Srdanović, he congratulated him and the Student List on their convincing victory in Serbia’s elections.
“I wish them success in forming a government and in their future actions. The message from the citizens of Serbia was very clear—they wanted change. The election winners have a clear mandate and the support of the citizens to take responsibility for Serbia. We welcome Mr. Srdanović’s announcements that building better relations with neighboring countries will be among the foreign policy priorities of the Student List. We are ready to continue talks on open bilateral issues”, Plenković noted.
