Zaev for Serbian daily: We are doing everything to end the crisis peacefully

BELGRADE/SKOPJE – In the interest of stability of the country and the citizens, a new government is needed urgently as a way out of the political crisis, which is being pushed by Nikola Gruevski and the leadership of VMRO-DPMNE, said SDSM leader Zoran Zaev, in Monday’s edition of Serbian daily newspaper Danas, Meta reports.

“SDSM has always been and will always be a party of the state, which thinks primarily in the interests of citizens and the state. That is why we are carefully pushing the democratic processes. We know that there are unserious people on the opposite side. We are doing everything in our power to ensure a change of government in a peaceful manner. However, I would like to say what Gruevski and VMRO-DPMNE are doing out in the field, like making small children go out onto the street, students, spreading hate speech and ethnic intolerance – it is alarming and everyone knows that the crisis must be solved quickly, and I will do everything I can to prevent major damage. Through the institutions, and under the Constitution, I expect a new government will be elected quickly”, said Zaev.

He stated that he expects a new president of Parliament to be elected Monday.
