TIRANA – The positive progress of Albania-Serbia bilateral relations was the focus of talks between the President of the Republic Ilir Meta and the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Gordana Čomić.

The two interlocutors underlined that further strengthening the understanding and regional cooperation is an essential element not only to the consolidation of peace and security in the region, but also to advancement of the European agenda and EU integration process.

Čomić, who is also an activist of the women’s movement and “Women’s Political Network”, is on a two-day working visit to Albania to attend forum “Albania and Serbia towards a common future in the European Union.”

Meta welcomed Čomić’s visit to Tirana and her participation in the forum hosted by non-governmental organizations, putting emphasis on the need to support initiatives that promote cooperation and enhance people-to-people contacts between the two countries.

In this context, Meta also welcomed recent encouraging messages over opportunities to revitalize Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.
