BRUSSELS – European Commissioner for Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn says that he sees a new impulse in the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština, although there is still “nothing concrete”.
He explained that Kosovo changed its attitude towards the dialogue. “They may have previously been less willing than the Serbs to participate, but now they understand that it is also in their interest,” says Han.
Johannes Hahn, in a conversation with correspondents of European media in Brussels, including a Tanjug correspondent, said that there is currently a positive atmosphere in Kosovo.
He emphasized the fact that after the positive decision of the Kosovo Parliament on demarcation with Montenegro, the European Commission sent an expert team to Kosovo to asses sthe fulfillment of conditions for visa liberalization.
“In that way, they saw that they are getting something in return and that there are positive signals for them. I am convinced that this can bring new energy to the dialogue, “said Hahn.
Johannes Hahn says that, although there is currently “nothing concrete” about the dialogue, he feels “a positive development of the atmosphere” between the two partners in dialogue.
