Stoltenberg welcomes Montenegro’s decision to send troops to Kosovo

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg welcomed Montenegro’s decision to send members of its armed forces to the KFOR mission in Kosovo. Asked to comment on Belgrade’s criticisms against Montenegro’s decision to send an officer to the KFOR mission, Stoltenberg said that “Montenegro decided”. “Montenegro has decided to send its troops to our KFOR mission in Kosovo. I welcome this. We have a close partnership with Serbia. I think it is important for NATO to have a close partnership with Serbia,” Stoltenberg said at a press conference after the first day of the meeting of NATO defence ministers.
